What is Sound Therapy?
Sound therapy bowls, often referred to as singing bowls, have gained immense popularity in the realm of holistic wellness and alternative therapies. Traditionally crafted from metal or crystal, these bowls produce rich, resonant sounds when struck or circled with a mallet. The vibrations generated by the sound therapy bowls are believed to have profound effects on the mind and body, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing mental clarity. As the soothing tones cascade through the air, they create a meditative environment that allows individuals to connect with their inner selves, facilitating a deeper state of awareness and mindfulness.
My story
Over the last decade Glastonbury's healing fields have proved far more alluring than in previous years and is where I experienced my first sound bath. It was a magical experience and something that I couldn't compare to anything else especially after a few gruelling shifts on the festival's recycling team!
But why wait for Glasto? I couldn't! So after undertaking some research and plenty of it I carried out my training with the fabulous Ali Young of Chiang Mai Holistic, based out in Thailand, and Moon Hands Sound Therapy was born.
My aim since completing my training and investing in my own gorgeous set of crystal bowls has been to bring these magical and mesmerising sounds into the wider community.
